PR News has programmed a must-attend event on June 21 and June 22 in New York City focused on tactical learning led by top digital PR strategists and Tech Vendors.

New York City, NY - April 11, 2012 -- PR News has programmed a unique two-day event in New York that combines social media, technology, strategy and food tastings. The Social Media Summit & Taste of Tech will connect PR professionals with the latest technology and tools to help them create successful campaigns and communications initiatives, and with digital communications leaders who will share the latest best practices in using the social media networks that matter most to their organizations and clients.

The Taste of Tech event will be held on June 21 at the Sentry Centers in New York, and the Social Media Summit will be held June 22 at the same location.

Two kinds of cravings will be met at the June 21 Taste of Tech - the need for answers to questions about the tools and technology that are best suited to communicators' particular PR programs, and the desire to try new and exciting food. PR News will show Taste of Tech attendees that samplings of new technology and tasty morsels go together very well.

Taste of Tech attendees will have the opportunity to listen to and engage in panel discussions led by technology partners who will present an array of options to help them pack their social media toolbox, cut through the clutter with their press releases, monitor and measure stakeholder engagement and more--and be treated throughout the day to food tastings from various New York establishments. New ideas and technologies are not always so easily absorbed--particularly on an empty stomach. That certainly won't be the case at Taste of Tech.

The next day, on June 22, David Armano, EVP, global innovation & integration for Edelman, will kick off the Social Media Summit with a keynote address showing how brands can embrace social media internally and externally and transform themselves to connect with new audiences. Joining Armano as presenters at the Social Media Summit will be Michael Bepko, global online community manager, Whole Foods Market; Paula Berg, digital media leader, Linhart PR; Paull Young, director of digital engagement, Charity Water; Jonathan Kopp, global director, Ketchum Digital; Sally Falkow, social media strategist, Meritus Media; Albe Zakes, global VP, media, TerraCycle, and others.

These digital strategists will share insights, case studies and practical tips on how to leverage Facebook Timeline to tell your brand's story, develop relationships with key influencers in your market on Twitter, establish your brand on Pinterest and connect with its rapidly growing and passionate user base, advance your career and connect with media professionals on LinkedIn, apply the latest SEO tactics and measure the results of your social media efforts to prove ROI. In addition, Dallas Lawrence, chief global digital strategist for Burson-Marsteller, will lead attendees in an interactive crisis clinic in which they will be able to instantly apply some of the lessons learned at the Social Media Summit.

PR News' Taste of Tech on June 21 will shine a spotlight on the leading-edge companies servicing communications pros across a spectrum comprising social media, media relations, mobile communications, video, measurement, SEO and crisis monitoring. The June 22 Social Media Summit will then provide PR practitioners with an intensive, one-day immersion in the next practices in social media communications.
