Google has released Google Related Links which is a new feature that would allow Google to add dynamic relevant content links to your website. These related links will be placed on the side of your site offering users with navigation to related content. These links may go to related news, related searches or related pages based on the topics found on that page.

There are various formats that webmasters can select and implementing Google Related Links is quick and easy. All that you need to do is copy and past the javascript coding to the page and when visitors come to the page, Google will provide dynamic links to other sources of information that is related to the content on your page.
So what is the benefit?

At this time the main benefit is to provide an automated way to display related searches, pages, and news on their sites in a quick manner. Really this is not anything new, ASK has been doing something like this for quite some time. For example go to ASK.com and conduct a search for 'digital cameras' on the ASK SERP you will get the option of 'Narrowing Your Search' with related links or you are presented with 'Expanding Your Search' where you can access consumer reports and related products.

I have often commented on the fact that ASK provides extremely relevant results. This attempt by Google to offer Related Links is another way for Google to serve up the results that a user may be looking for. I believe that Google is trying to provide users with the best possible search experience.

What gets me about using Google Related Links is that, although Google is a great resource for providing information (in this case through dynamic related links), if your website is providing a service or product, and you expect to be an authority on your product or service then why aren't you providing all of this information on your site already? Why would you want to add Google Related Links to take users away from your own content? Your site should provide the visitor with the complete experience. Users should be able to find what they are looking for with relative ease. Examine your site for your user's point of view. Are they getting the best experience?
